Terms of Service

The agreement between Hostlex and its customers: how services are ordered, paid for, used and ended.

  1. 1.Scope

    These terms apply to every service Hostlex provides: virtual servers, dedicated servers, game servers, object storage, storage boxes and the extras attached to them.

    Placing an order means you have read and accepted these terms together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy.

  2. 2.Orders and provisioning

    A service starts once its invoice is paid. Virtual servers are created automatically and are normally ready within a minute. Dedicated servers are handed over within one business day if the hardware is in stock; custom builds follow the date given in the quote.

    Hostlex may refuse an order without giving reasons. Any amount already paid for that order is returned in full.

  3. 3.Payment, renewal and suspension

    Services are prepaid for the billing period chosen at checkout. A service renews automatically when the account balance covers the renewal invoice.

    If a renewal invoice is not paid, the service remains active for a grace period of five days after the due date and is then suspended. A suspended service and all data on it may be permanently deleted 14 days after the suspension date.

  4. 4.Acceptable use

    You may not use the services for unlawful content, unsolicited bulk email, scanning of networks you do not own, attacks on third-party systems, malware distribution or phishing.

    A service involved in a violation may be suspended until the cause is removed. Repeated or serious violations end the agreement without a refund.

  5. 5.Shared network capacity

    Network ports on shared plans are provided under fair-use rules. If a service keeps a port saturated for long periods, its speed may be limited to 10–80 Mbit/s or the service may be suspended.

    Customers who need constant high throughput should ask for a dedicated server.

  6. 6.Availability and responsibility

    Hostlex aims for 99.9% monthly availability of its infrastructure. Maintenance announced in advance is not counted.

    You are responsible for what runs on your service, for its configuration and for backups of your data, unless a backup extra has been booked.

  7. 7.Changes

    Hostlex may update these terms. Material changes are announced on the website and apply no sooner than 10 calendar days after they are published.
